It’s not just the heat that’s murder this summer! What better way to mark an unlucky Friday the 13th than with a screening of “Friday the 13th” at The Varsity?
One of the longest-running horror film series began with this gory shocker from director Sean S. Cunningham. The movie tells the story of entrepreneur Steve Christie (Peter Brouwer) who re-opens Camp Crystal Lake after many years of being shut down because it has been cursed by murders and bad luck.
The Varsity will show “Friday the 13th” at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 13. Tickets are $5 and are available in advance at www.thevarsitycenter.org. Tickets also will be available at the venue on the night of the show when doors and the bar open at 6:30 p.m. The Varsity Bar features beer, wine, select cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks and popcorn.
“Friday the 13th” is rated R for adult situations and language, sex and graphic violence. Anyone under 17 requires an accompanying parent or adult guardian.
The Varsity is in downtown Carbondale at 418 S. Illinois Ave. Keep up with upcoming events at www.facebook.com/varsitycenter.
