The Varsity presents some extreme silliness with the comedic classic “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” on the big screen on Friday August 17.
John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle and the entire Monty Python gang are on a quest for a certain Holy Grail but first must face down a persistent Black Knight, a three-headed giant, the perilous Castle Anthrax, a killer bunny, a house of virgins, a cadre of shrubbery-challenged knights and a handful of rude Frenchmen.
It’s low budget and high comedy at The Varsity, so dust off your cocoanuts and ride over to downtown Carbondale.
The Varsity will show “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug 17. Tickets are $7 for the general admission, $5 for students, and are available in advance at www.thevarsitycenter.org.
Tickets also will be available at the venue on the night of the show when doors and the bar open at 6:30 p.m. The Varsity Bar features beer, wine, select cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks and popcorn.
“Monty Python and the Holy Grail” is rated PG.
The Varsity is downtown Carbondale at 418 S. Illinois Ave. Keep up with upcoming events at www.facebook.com/varsitycenter.
