The Peace Coalition of Southern Illinois/FOR Monthly Vigil for Peace and Justice will be held Saturday, November 3, Noon to 1 P.M. at the corner of Illinois Ave. and Main Street in Carbondale.
Voter suppression damages our democracy. Common Cause points out “some of what voters will have to deal with: Polling place closures… discriminatory voter ID laws… hour-long waits to vote… outdated voting machines… voter purges greenlit by the Supreme Court… misinformation online… difficulties getting registered… ballot shortages… confusing rule changes… the list goes on— and often disproportionately targets voters of color. All of us deserve a say in the future of our families and our community.”
Appropriate signs will be provided, but all are invited to bring their own. The Peace Coalition Monthly Meeting will follow the Vigil at Cristaudo’s Café and Bakery.
