S.I. LEARNING IN RETIREMENT: “BASEBALL MEETS THE LAW”
Date and Time: Wednesday, May 16, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Frank Houdek, emeritus professor at the SIU School of Law, and Ed Edmonds, emeritus professor at the Notre Dame Law School, will share several of the over 400 stories in their book, “Baseball Meets the Law: A Chronology of Decisions, Statutes and Other Legal Events.” The book explores the longstanding relationship between what could be termed America’s two national pastimes—baseball and the law. The presenters will include stories which have a Cardinals or Cubs connection in illustrating the historic and continuing profound effect of the law on the sport.
After a question and answer period, Professors Houdek and Edmonds will be available to sign copies of their book.
The meeting, free and open to the public, will begin with a coffee and social hour at 9:30 a.m.
