Carbondale Community Arts is thrilled to host the Youth Filmmaker Series at Artspace 304 in
collaboration with The Big Muddy Crew!
The Youth Filmmaker Series is a day-long workshop aimed at teaching the fundamentals of filmmaking to young creatives in the region. Beginning at 11 am on Saturday, November 10th the five-hour long workshop will tackle subjects such as film analysis, sound design, screenwriting and storyboarding. The workshops will be taught by members of the Big Muddy Crew and faculty of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The workshop will develop visual thinking skills and creativity through technical aspects of film pre-production. This is an excellent opportunity for young students to experiment with film equipment.
The scripts and corresponding storyboards produced at the workshops will be turned into short
films to be shown at the closing reception of the Big Muddy Film Festival!
