Cary Minnis, Executive Director of the Greater Egypt Regional Planning and Development Commission, will provide updates on the Commission’s work at the Southern Illinois Learning in Retirement (SILIR) meeting Wednesday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. The Commission, founded in the1960s, provides technical assistance and comprehensive planning for the region’s economic development. Its work includes environmental and transportation planning.
Cary Minnis received the Master of Science degree in Workforce Education and Development from SIU Carbondale. Before joining the Greater Egypt Commission, he worked for eight years at the Southern Illinois-based Man-Tra-Con Corporation, a partner in the American Job Center network.
The presentation, free and open to the public, will be at Epiphany Lutheran Church at 1501 W Chautauqua St. in Carbondale. A coffee and social hour begins at 9:30.
