Eligibility and Rules
Entry Deadline September 30th
Who can enter – Photographers of all levels of experience are invited to enter the LEAA Photo
Invitational. Students age 18 and younger can enter the Youth Division for free. Students should note
that photographs captured with cell phones are allowed and encouraged. All entrants in both adult and
youth divisions will be eligible for the Best of Show award. Photos must be taken by the photographer
submitting them. They must be original. Entrants may enter in one or all categories with a total of four
images. The Youth Division can have up to 10 entries per art and photography teacher .
The categories are:
1. Traditional digital and film photography (TDFP) – Photographs in this category must not be
digitally enhanced. Cropping, resizing, and minor exposure adjustments are permitted. Each
image will be subject to the curator’s scrutiny as to whether the image is considered traditional
photography or digitally enhanced.
2. Digitally enhanced photography (DEP) – A photograph is considered digitally enhanced if it
has been heavily digitally manipulated, painted, and or in any way altered from the original image
in photo editing software. Adding or removing elements from the original image, heavy use of

3. Black and White photography (B&W) Photographs in this category shall be composed of
variants of the color gray, ranging from absolute black to absolute white. Enhancement of the
photo through the use of traditional filters at the time of capture or digital filters in post
processing is permitted in this category, as long as the monochromatic gray colors are maintained.
Preparation of entries – All entries must be framed (excluding metal, glass, and canvas prints) and
fitted with a wire hanger and eyes. No sawtooth hangers are allowed. Students work may be drymounted, matted or framed.
Entry Fees – Each photographer may submit a maximum of four images. $20 for the first image, $5
for the each of the second, third, and fourth images. Make checks payable to LEAA. Credit cards and
cash are also accepted. There is no entry fee for the youth division. Entry Deadline is Monday,
September 30th
.
Delivery and submission of entries – Entries should be hand delivered to the LEAA Art Centre
Monday, September 23rd through Monday, September 30th at the following times: Monday 9-6,
Tuesday – Thursday 10-4, Friday 10-8, Saturday 10-2, Monday 9-6 or call 618-889-0301 to arrange a
drop off time. LEAA reserves the right to reject, upon delivery, any work submitted.
Reception and pick up of entries – After the show, entries must be picked up at the show reception
on Sunday, November 10th, from 2-4 pm. Any entries not picked up after 30 days will become the
property of LEAA unless specific arrangements have been made.
Cash Awards – Best of Show, First, Second, and Third in each category will receive cash awards in
both the adult division and the youth division. Ribbons will be awarded for Honorable Mentions. All
entry fees will be paid out in prizes, minus any show operating expenses.
Sales and commissions – LEAA will collect payment for the sale, deduct a 20% commission and
issue a check to the photographer.
Liability /Photographers – Your signature on the application form constitutes your agreement to the
terms and conditions stated here.
Liability /LEAA – LEAA will take every precaution in handling entries to protect against damage or
theft. However, LEAA does not accept liability for any accident, damage, or loss to works submitted
to the Photo Invitational.
Please place a COPY of the entry tags on the back of your artwork.

Little Egypt Arts Association was founded in 1995 as a not -for -profit arts association. Our mission
is to promote opportunities for artists and the public to experience art through educational programs,
events, classes, workshops, and art demonstrations. We showcase and sell our members’ works in our
own art gallery and gift shop which is open to the public. LEAA is home to a variety of groups
including the following: ALPS – Artistic Lens Photography Society, LEWS – Little Egypt Writers
Society – both professional and beginner, Cricut, the paper crafting and card group, as well as a fiber
group, and painters.
