The Artspace 304 board and staff announce that the 2025 Southern Arts Fund (SAF)
applications are now available. These grants provide vital, financial support to artists and
non-profit arts organizations throughout the Southern Illinois region, provide a wide array of
public art and entertainment, and ensure that the arts thrive for all who seek them.
This year, SAF grants are underwritten by the Illinois Arts Council, National Endowment for the
Arts, Artspace 304, and a private foundation. Nearly $30,000 in grants will be available. Grant
amounts range between $2,000 and $3,500. Projects are evaluated on the following criteria:
proposal quality, pursuit of excellence, community impact and need, dedication and
follow-through, and community support. A panel appointed by Artspace Southern Illinois’ board
of directors will meet and review SAF proposals to determine projects that would best serve our
region and communities.
Previous projects this SAF has supported include: a Juneteenth Block Party, a Community
Crash Course in Ceramics, the Brown Bag Concert Series and more. These free and open to
the public projects are designed to benefit community members of Southern Illinois.
Applications must be submitted electronically and will be accepted until Sunday, February 16th.
All funds must be used by August 31 2025. More information and a link to the application may
be accessed through the Artspace 304 website: artspace304.org/southern-arts-fund
