The Jackson County Health Department will be hosting the initial County Solid Waste and Recycling Planning meeting on September 26th with two ways to join:
1) 10:00 – 11:30 AM

This meeting will serve to inform local municipalities and the public of the Illinois Solid Waste Planning and Recycling Act. The legislation requires counties in Illinois to create and adopt a plan for their solid waste and recycling programs that promote alternatives to landfills and encourage municipal recycling and source reduction.
