Learning in Retirement: \”Radio: A Friendly Companion in Unsettlng Times\”

Kevin Boucher, the Community Engagement Producer and on-air reporter at WSIU Radio, will explore the vital role radio plays in contributing to mental and emotional health in the midst of COVID19. He will be speaking at the monthly meeting of Southern Illinois Learning in Retirement (SILIR).
Boucher, who has worked at WSIU Public Broadcasting since 1995, also manages The Southern Illinois Radio Information Service (SIRIS). He holds the Master’s Degree in Professional Media and Media Management Studies from SIU Carbondale. He was the Traffic Manager for WSIU Television for 19 years before beginning his work at WSIU Radio in 2014.
The meeting will be held via Zoom and is open to all SILIR members. Membership is open to anyone age 50 and older with annual dues of $25.00.
