The City of Carbondale will hold a General Discussion regarding challenges in the local construction
environment during the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Carbondale
Civic Center 200 S. Illinois Avenue, Carbondale, Illinois 6290.
The City Council and city staff invite community members, skilled trade workers, and contractors to join in the
discussion on the challenges faced in Carbondale’s construction projects. Your insights and experiences are
crucial in shaping future policy discussions and improvements to the City’s processes.
Topics for discussion include, but are not limited to:
o Labor shortages
o Work force training
o Bidding Opportunity Challenges/Barriers of Job Site Safety
o Project Compliance
How to Participate:
