The Southern Il PrideFest is BACK in person the weekend of June 9-11 in Carbondale, IL,
hosted by Pride in Action, Southern IL.
After a three year hiatus during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are pleased to celebrate in
person once again and demonstrate Pride for the LGBTQ+ community of Southern Il. With
35 merchant vendors, six food trucks and stands, 40 community organizations, live music
and entertainment, we expect this year’s festival to be the biggest ever!
Friday, June 9th – opening Reception at the Varsity Center
5:30 pm Cocktail hour, with reading by author Rafael Frumkin at 7:00 pm, followed by
“Mother Loose’s Bedtime Stories” Drag Reading (ages 18+) at 8:30 pm – FREE
ADMISSION; donations welcome
Saturday, June 10th – Festival
Gather for the March and Cruise, 10 am at the parking lot of the Washington St. Venue
Festival 12-5 pm, Washington St. Venue – FREE ADMISSION
Saturday Night Concert at Hangar 9: Doors open at 8; show at 9pm, featuring Brian Justin
Crum, $15
Sunday, June 11 – Closing
Affirming Worship ceremony, 11am, Church of the Good Shepherd
PK’s Drag Brunch, 11am – 3pm
